The use of modules in the VLE to orient students has been a staple found in many school boards. We currently have a module entitled “VLE Orientation for Secondary Students” that is provided to all students in the VLE. Not only does it give practical information about the VLE; it also acts as a reference for students to return to as needed. With this module in mind; and due to the rapid advancement in the use of Artificial Intelligence; we want to give our students a primer on the use of AI in the classroom. Many stakeholders were part of the process of developing this module; ranging from Classroom Teachers to Teacher-Librarians and IT Consultants. During this presentation; the module will be demonstrated. There will also be an opportunity to discuss best practices and share feedback on the module. Following the presentation; each attendee will be provided with a Brightspace course package for their own use.Workshop Resources: https://padlet.com/OeLC_Program_Coordinator/boltt157

Automatically send OOB students in your courses the account information they need -usernames; passwords; and other details- to access your board’s services. Combine your-board account details from your SIS with OOB email addresses and info from PRISM using XLOOKUP to create a mail merge that includes all the account and course information each OOB student needs to access your services. This example will be using PowerSchool; but any SIS export CSV that includes your-board account info and OENs should work.
